Union Jack

2.søndag i advent

Wish list...
I've seen other bloggers add their wish lists to their blogs, and I thought this was a neat way of dreaming. This is my wish list for both small and extravagant wishes in no particular order... but I know what I have to start with:
I love Arne Jacobsen design, and would really like four more white Series 7 for our dining table. A couple of them could be exchanged for Swan's if someone insisted ;-) But at the top of my Arne Jacobsen wish list is the Egg, preferably in worn brown leather, but I wouldn't say no to any colour or fabric!
This funky wall/ceiling lamp Harmoni would be a great feature in my home, probably in my next home, but I would find a place for it in the current as well if I needed to :-)
Ola Windsor chair(s) from Tonning in Stryn - I love all of them, the colourful, the white and the wooden...
The lovely Pinell Supersound DAB-Radio
The Sony Bravia NX something must be one of the prettiest TVs on the market. I prefer chrome or white TVs, but this one is still my favourite.
I also need a side table for my new BoBo lamp which I picked up from the store today, and I wouldn't mind a new media furniture to set the TV on, as I am not happy with the one we have today. A headboard for the bed is also on the to-do/whish list. I could go on and on and on... but now
... Brothers & Sisters...
Have a good evening!

Stue

Long time no blogging....
Three months have passed since my last blog entry, and I'm sad to say that the lovely terrasse has not been used as frequently I hoped.
As I had my vacation in Kazakhstan in April, so this years summer vacation was a one week trip to the West Coast of Norway. It started with Liv & Marcin's wedding at Sandane, took us via Stryn, Geiranger and my Dads cabin at Fjellseter, to Ålesund and ended with a WONDERFUL day at the "Sommerfest på Giske" (www.verdensbestefestival.no)!
Except for the short vacation, I've spent a lot of time in London this summer. Per Øyvind has had started in a new position in Shell and had his training and getting to know his new colleagues in London most of June and July. And as Per Øyvind is my favourite guy, London is my favourite city and some of my favourite friends live there, I could not stand leaving him there all by his lonesome!
Now Autumn has arrived, with rain and cold almost every day :-( There will be a lot of work these coming weeks, broken by a two week training course in Bergen. Fun things planned for the rest of the year includes a trip to Rome in October, visiting Karasjok in November and going to Ålesund at the end of the year! Looking forward to it!
...hoping I'll be better at updating my blog in the months to come.... :-)

Per Øyvinds London
I just had to steal some of Per Øyvinds pictures from London. Enjoy my boyfriends view through the lookingglass, a London you might not have seen with your own eyes... ;-)

Boattrip to Greenwich
Per and I decided that it was time to be tourists in London, and this beautiful day we decided that a boat trip to Greenwich was a perfect choice. The bridges across the river, the beautiful grand buildings and the colourful house boats were some of the sights we enjoyed. Greenwich itself is a beautiful and relaxed village, well worth the trip! And a recommendation to anyone travelling to London, especially maybe families, as there is a great park which is not too crowded and a teaching possibility at the observatory at the prime meridian of the world.

Litt nytt i heimen...

Beer with a straw
In Kazakhstan girls who order beer gets it served with a straw. I never quite understood this...is it more lady like? Do they think the pint glass is too heavy? Will it makes us cheerful more quickly? or is it just the way it is?? :-D
This picture was taken at a Thai restaurant where we passed time with a really yummy meal waiting for our 3am flight...
So long Kazakhstan! I've had a lovely visit!!

Hiking to look for wild tulips
The tulip is from Kazakhstan, so we went to search for the wild tulips.
The most common tulips
in this part of Kazakhstan are also the ones the Dutch scientists have
made most of the cultivated tulips we know in Europe today from. These
two brands are called Greigii and Kaufmani. The red ones in these
pictures are Greigii.
The sun was really strong this Wednesday, so must of us got some level
of sunburn...even tho we had used suntanlotion...
Now we're on the night train back to Almaty and tomorrow we'll see the
famous Medeo skating rink where the USSR set a lot of world records 40
odd yrs ago. We'll also lunch in a yurta, probably drinking fermented
camel milk! Exciting times!
